Baths of Aphrodite

The Baths of Aphrodite, located in the Akamas Peninsula near the fishing village of Latchi, are considered to be a famous mythological site. The area of Akamas is a wild, uninhabited region with remarkable beaches and scenery.

Legend has it that Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, used to bathe here, in the pools of the natural cave which is surrounded by magnificent natural wildlife. According to mythology, this is where Adonis met his lover, Aphrodite, where he fell in love with her at first sight, after he took a sip from the waters.

The area is ideal for swimming in crystal clear waters with the unique area of Akamas and its extraordinary valleys and cave islets in the background.

Aphrodite’s Baths have also become a favorite for snorkeling as the bay has crystal clear beaches surrounded by rocks thereby attracting numerous types of fish.

From here, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Bay of Polis area in Paphos.

After swimming and snorkeling, you can feast on freshly caught fish at the Baths of Aphrodite restaurant located right on the beach nearby. No doubt, the experience will be food for the body as well as the soul!
